After the defeat of True Ogre,Heihachi ordered his researchers to collect the ADN of Ogre. Heihachi wanted to be useful of this ADN with an aim of constituting a supreme creature by mixing it with his. But the Devil Gene was necessary in order to successfully use Ogre's genetic code into another living organisms. Only Jin and Kazuya had the Devil Gene. Jin had disappeared at the end of the third Tournament, but research of Heihachi conducts him to the G-Corporation. This company based in Nepal and Nebraska had found the lacerated body of Kazuya in the volcano. December 25, Heihachi sent his Tekken Force to steal the data concerning Devil Gene stored to the G-Corporation. However he encountered a big problem. Kazuya had been revived and was always determined to be avenged. The data disappeared and Heihachi announced The King of Iron Fist Tournament 4 with the MFE as the top prize.
After a Tekken Tag criticized, Tekken 4 comes with two other serious competitors (Virtua Fighters 4 and Dead or Alive 3). With the first screens and the exit of Tekken 4 in arcades, this Tekken is the most criticized by the press, but also by the fans of the saga who divide. The evolved characters design is not taste of everyone. But, the exit of the game on PS2 corrects the defects of Tekken 4 in Arcade. The convertion on console is perfect. The principal changes in the gameplay are: closed arenas, unevennesses of ground, new side displacements... Graphically the game is spendid, the effects of water are magnificent. Endings are in real time but longer than before. The introduction is always so incredible. The Tekken Force mode is entirely in 3D. There is also a story mode more detailed.
June 11, 2002: Tekken 4 is elected better fighting game in E3 of
the year 2002! |
